How long does it take for the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro to fully charge?

For this reason, iClarified has carried out a complete battery charging test on the iPhone 14 Pro to find out how long it takes to fully charge its battery depending on the charger you use . It must be remembered that the iPhone 14 Pro has a 3200 mAh battery.

In total they have tested six different chargers: the original 5W power adapter and more powerful options such as 12W, 20W, 30W, 140W chargers , as well as the MagSafe wireless charger and measured the time it takes for the iPhone to charge. Although the data is from the iPhone 14 Pro, it will be similar on the regular iPhone 14.

  • 5W power adapter : 03:28:38
  • 12W power adapter : 01:57:00
  • MagSafe charger with 20W adapter : 02:03:40
  • 20W power adapter : 01:39:37
  • 30W power adapter : 01:37:471
  • 40W power adapter : 01:37:27

As you can see, the maximum charging power seems to be close to 20W, with the more powerful 30 and 140W chargers we barely noticed improvements in the total charging speed. Therefore, charging the entire battery of the iPhone 14 Pro takes almost 1 hour and 40 minutes if you use a fast adapter.

That is, it takes 30 minutes to charge the first 50% of the battery and one hour and 10 minutes to charge the remaining 50% . This is normal as the speed is reduced as it charges to prevent damage to the battery health. You can watch the full iClarified video below:

The truth is that these are quite bad data if we compare them with the competition. For example, the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra takes just one hour to fully charge , and even though it “only” charges with a power of 45W, there are other smartphones that charge much faster. It is certainly a point to improve on Apple’s part, we will see if it is achieved with the iPhone 15 and its jump to USB-C .
